Terms of Use

By using Same Sky you agree to these terms. They sit alongside Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also applies. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
What Same Sky is
An app for two people in different time zones. It shows both of your skies, works out when you are both awake, and lets the two of you send each other photos, drawings, short captions, list items and countdowns. There is no feed, no search and no way to find strangers: you can only ever exchange things with the one person you paired with using an invite.
No tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour
You must not use Same Sky to send, or to ask somebody else to send:
- anything sexual involving a minor, in any form;
- sexual content the other person has not clearly asked for;
- harassment, threats, intimidation, bullying or stalking;
- hate speech, or content that demeans people for who they are;
- graphic violence, or content that encourages self-harm;
- anything illegal, or anything that infringes somebody else’s rights.
There is no tolerance for any of this. Sending it is a breach of these terms, and we will act on every report of it.
Reporting and blocking
Everything the other person sends you has a ••• menu with Report this and Block. Reporting removes it from your phone straight away and opens an email to hello@sameskyapp.com. Blocking takes away their access to what you share, removes what they sent from your phone, and stops anything new from them arriving. You can also block from Settings, under “the two of you”.
A person reads every report and responds within 24 hours. Same Sky has no server, so what you share lives in your own iCloud and we cannot open it; acting on a report means making sure the person who reported can remove the content and block the sender, and helping with anything else the report needs, including referring it to the authorities where the law requires.
Your content
What you send is yours, and you are responsible for it. You must have the right to share it. It is stored on your phone and, once you pair, in a shared zone in your iCloud account that only the person you paired with can reach. We do not claim any rights to it and cannot read it.
No account
Same Sky has no accounts, no sign-up and no sign-in. Settings lets you erase everything on your phone, or delete everything including the shared copy in iCloud.
The service
Same Sky is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and reliable, but sky colours, moon phases, waking hours and weather are guides, not guarantees, and we are not liable for anything that follows from relying on them, to the extent the law allows. We may change or stop the app, and we may change these terms; the date at the top will say when they last changed.
