What Same Sky knows about you

The short version
Same Sky has no server. There is nowhere for us to keep your data. What the app stores lives on your phone and, if you pair with someone, in your own iCloud account.
No analytics. No advertising SDKs. Nothing about you is sold or shared, and there is no mechanism in the app by which it could be.
On your phone
The two people you set up: names, cities, coordinates, time zones and waking hours. Your countdowns, your bucket list, your photo journal, and your record of tapping the moon.
In your iCloud, if you pair
Inviting a partner creates a shared record zone in your personal iCloud account and gives that one person access. Your photos, their photos, and whether each of you has unlocked Days travel through it.
That data sits in your Apple account under Apple’s terms, not in an account belonging to this app. We cannot read it, and that is a property of how it is built rather than a promise.
Location
Asked for once, optionally, at reduced accuracy, to work out which city you are in. You can decline and type a city instead. Coordinates stay on your device and are used to calculate the sun and the moon locally. If you pair, the city you chose is visible to that one person, since showing each of you the other’s sky is the point of the app.
Photos
Photos in the Days journal are stored on your device and, when paired, in your iCloud shared zone. They are not uploaded anywhere else, not scanned, and not used to train anything.
Weather
Current conditions come from Apple’s WeatherKit, which receives the coordinates needed to answer the request. Apple’s handling of that is covered by their privacy policy.
Sign in with Apple
The only sign in offered, and optional. It saves your setup and lets you pair. With Hide My Email we never see a real address. We do not email you.
Purchases
Handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. The app only learns whether a purchase exists.
Notifications
Generated on your device, and every type is off until you turn it on. Nothing is delivered while the person receiving it is asleep. Anything that would land in their night waits until morning.
Children
Same Sky is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Deleting everything
Settings has a delete option that removes everything on the device and signs you out. Unpairing stops sharing. There is no server copy to chase.
